July in Athens is packed with sold-out concerts, bringing some of the biggest names in the global music industry to the Greek capital.
The month kicks off with the incomparable Beth Hart, who returns for a highly anticipated performance at the Lycabettus Municipal Theatre. In an atmospheric solo show custom-tailored for her Greek fans, the beloved singer-songwriter will showcase tracks from her latest album, You Still Got Me, joined on stage by her long-time collaborator and guitarist, John Nichols.
On the very same night, Release Athens 2026 welcomes the legendary Moby to Plateia Nerou. As one of the most influential figures in electronic music history, the American producer is making a triumphant return to touring with a setlist packed with his career’s greatest hits. Never afraid to experiment, Moby has seamlessly bridged punk, ambient, and dance music, leaving an indelible mark on the modern music landscape. Joining him for this spectacular three-decade musical journey are alternative rock icons Garbage and the rising synth-pop trio Pale Blue Eyes.
Rounding out the opening week, hip-hop heads are in for a treat on Sunday, July 5th, as the legendary and immensely influential Redman takes the stage at Floyd.
Athens concerts in July: Rock, metal, and punk crank up the volume
On July 7th, Release Athens shifts into high gear at Water Plaza, uniting two powerhouse names of American punk rock: The Offspring and Bad Religion. Boasting massive legacies and unmatched influence, these two iconic bands join forces for an explosive co-headlining show that promises to be a summer highlight. UK post-punk sensations High Vis will open the night.
Metal fans are also gearing up for a historic milestone as Pantera and Trivium share a billing, marking the first-time live appearance of both bands in Greece. This highly anticipated double-feature is already being hailed as a historic moment for the local heavy music community.
Meanwhile, perched atop the city at the Lycabettus Municipal Theatre, the iconic Robert Plant will connect with the Athenian audience to present his musical project, “All That Glitters…”, alongside Saving Grace and the charismatic vocalist Suzi Dian. The legendary Led Zeppelin frontman continues to push creative boundaries, proving he remains one of the most innovative forces in rock music.
The heavy music chapter closes out in style with power metal pioneers Helloween, who return to Release Athens following their spectacular 2023 performance to deliver an arsenal of their greatest hits.
Icons return: Florence + The Machine and The Cure
The mid-month musical fever hits a crescendo with two massive festival dates. On July 14th, Ejekt Festival opens its gates at the newly revamped Telekom Center Athens (OAKA) for one of the absolute biggest spectacles of the summer. Alternative rock titans Florence + The Machine return to Athens to headline day one with their notoriously spellbinding live performance.
The following night, July 15th, marks the monumental return of The Cure. Breaking a seven-year absence from Greece, the goth-rock legends will take the OAKA stage as part of their European tour. Having deeply impacted generations of music lovers, Robert Smith and company return to the country following their triumphant Ejekt 2019 show, which drew a staggering crowd of over 30,000 fans.
Jazz, soul, and distinct summer vibes
For those seeking sophisticated rhythms, internationally acclaimed vocalist José James returns on Monday, July 6th, with a special tribute concert honoring the 50th anniversary of Leon Ware’s iconic album I Want You.
Over at the Gazarte Roof Stage, the phenomenal Ledisi will debut her new project “For Dinah”, paying a stunning vocal homage to the legendary Dinah Washington. A few nights later, the brilliant Veronica Swift promises a captivating performance blending jazz traditions, vintage aesthetics, and modern experimentation.
Finally, on Saturday, July 11th, Water Plaza transforms into the ultimate summer block party. Celebrating 10 years of Release Athens, the festival presents a massive celebration featuring Thievery Corporation, the legendary The Wailers, and the psychedelic funk trio BALTHVS. It promises to be an unforgettable night where reggae, electronic beats, and psych-funk collide under the Athenian summer sky.
