Greek investigative journalist and heir to the Niarchos shipping dynasty, Nikolas Niarchos, married Italian artist Malù Dalla Piccola in a remarkable series of wedding ceremonies, the most distinctive of which featured the groom dressed in the traditional uniform of an Evzone (Greek Presidential Guard).

Malù Dalla Piccola recently shared new photos on Instagram from their fairytale celebrations, including their third wedding event: A Catholic ceremony in Rome, followed by an elaborate after-party in the Italian countryside overlooking a lake.

The celebration was a spectacular, Renaissance-themed affair organized to toast their love. The atmosphere was dreamlike, complete with Pierrots, hot-air balloons, acrobats, and guests dressed in period-appropriate costumes.

“My dream, straight out of a Botticelli painting, embodied in a true work of art. Endless gratitude to @sandramansour for the magnificent, airy, hand-embroidered dress, which exudes the poetry and beauty of a masterpiece… And a big ‘thank you’ to @giambattistavalli for the perfect after-party dress, a flawless creation for a night of celebration,” she wrote.

The couple’s full nuptial journey began with a small, private civil ceremony in Switzerland in early June. This was followed by a second, religious ceremony held on the Niarchos family’s lush private island, Spetsopoula, in Greece.

The guest list for these exclusive events featured members of the international elite and the groom’s family, including his cousins Eugenia, Elektra, and Stavros Niarchos with his wife, Dasha Zhukova. Close friends such as ex-Princess Maria-Olympia of Greece and Denmark also attended.

The Groom: Nikolas Niarchos

Nikolas Niarchos is the eldest son of Spyros Niarchos and fashion icon Daphne Guinness, and the grandson of the legendary shipping magnate Stavros Niarchos.

While he is an heir to one of Greece’s most famous fortunes, he has carved out his own path as a respected investigative journalist and photographer. His work, which focuses on conflicts, minerals, and migration, has been published in major international outlets including The New Yorker, The Guardian, and The Independent.

He is known for maintaining a lower profile than many members of his prominent family, making his choice of the highly visible and symbolic Evzone attire a particularly striking gesture of national pride at his wedding.
