Study in Greece programs in English

Within the last few years, Greece has been repositioning itself on the global academic map through the Study in Greece program.

“The Study in Greece portal has everything an international student and the international academic community in general need to know about studying, researching, collaborating and living in Greece, including study options, cultural activities and day-to-day practicalities,” the SiG official website states.

The organization “represents Greek universities at international education fairs and promotes Greek Higher Education through diverse promo-and-info events, roadshows and presentations organized in close collaboration with the Greek diplomatic authorities, Embassies and Consulates overseas, as well as foreign diplomatic missions in Greece.”

Focusing on the internationalization of Higher Education, Greek state universities facilitate student and faculty mobility, promote the development of international study programs, foster collaborations and partnerships with international HEIs, and establish more and more international degrees, joint & dual study programs, short-term courses including summer/winter schools and internships.

Greek universities offer more than 170 international study programs, a number that constantly increases. International degrees provide international students with the opportunity to choose from a wide range of disciplines – from theoretical fields such as Archaeology, History and Classics to scientific fields such as Medicine, Biology, Physics and Ecology, as well as technology disciplines like IT, Computer Science, Engineering and Telecommunications, among others.

Greek universities also offer short-term courses – summer/winter schools and study abroad programs, inter-university joint programs, internships and other educational and research opportunities for international students. All these initiatives and study options, reflecting a modern and international spirit, signal the transition of Greek Higher Education to a new era of innovation, extroversion, and openness.
