Organizers’ vision

According to the statement, “The ATP 250 Hellenic Championship is organized by the experienced team behind the previous nine international tournaments in Belgrade.”

“This latest project builds on that legacy, with preparations well underway to deliver a world-class event in the historic city of Athens. We look forward to welcoming the tennis world to Athens in November.”

What is an ATP 250 tournament?

An ATP 250 tournament is part of the official ATP Tour calendar, sanctioned by the Association of Tennis Professionals. The “250” refers to the number of ranking points awarded to the champion.

Although it is the entry-level tier of the main ATP Tour—below the ATP 500 series, Masters 1000 events, and the Grand Slams—these tournaments regularly attract top-ranked players. For spectators, ATP 250 events offer the chance to see elite athletes in a more intimate and accessible setting, as many stars use them for preparation or to stay match-fit.
