Greece’s capital Athens is moving forward with efforts to digitize key city services, focusing on improving efficiency, accessibility and everyday functionality for residents. The city has introduced a digital urban planning map covering buildings and streets, offering residents and professionals a new way to access essential information. Through the platform domisi.cityofathens.gr, users can quickly obtain urban planning data for any area of interest in Athens.

The initiative forms part of a broader effort by the Municipality of Athens to modernize services and improve how citizens interact with the city. By integrating digital tools and improving the interconnection of services, authorities aim to accelerate service delivery and make everyday processes more efficient.

At the same time, the new urban planning platform is expected to reduce bureaucratic obstacles that have traditionally slowed access to information. In the past, obtaining such data often required time-consuming procedures and in-person visits, whereas the new system allows users to access geospatial and planning information easily and in real time from anywhere.

The platform provides an interactive online environment where engineers, researchers, professionals and the general public can explore detailed urban data. This shift not only supports professional activities but also gives citizens more direct access to information that affects their daily lives.
