
The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Boston is offering 2025-2026 academic year scholarship opportunities for US and Canadian students who are of Greek descent or of the Greek Orthodox Faith.
The scholarships will be offered to students entering their second, third, or fourth year of undergraduate studies. Current college freshmen, sophomores and juniors must have a cumulative 3.2 GPA or above to apply.
Beyond the basic eligibility criteria above, each of our scholarship funds has additional unique criteria established by our donors. Using information from the scholarship application, the Scholarship Committee will ensure all applicants are considered within the scholarship pool for which they are eligible.

Scholarships offered by the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Boston
St. George’s Hellenic Benefit Society of Tsamantas, Greece Scholarship Fund
The St. George’s Hellenic Benefit Society of Tsamantas Scholarship was established in 2020 in memory of the pioneering sons and daughters of the village of Tsamantas, Thesprotia, Epirus, who emigrated to Worcester, MA at the turn of the 19th century.
The Tsamantas Scholarship Fund awards two scholarships annually: The Stavros Bellos Scholarship, which carries a $7,500 award, and the Arthur Athanasiou Scholarship, which also provides an award of $7,500.
Charles C. Condes Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Charles C. Condes Memorial Scholarships are offered annually from funds granted to the Metropolis from the trust of Charles Constantine Condes to provide college student aid. This year, four scholarship recipients will each receive $8,000.
Charles Condes was born in Chicago, Illinois to Constantine S. and Harikleia (Yiannias) Condes, emigrants from Niata, Lakonia and Alea, Arkadia.
The Metropolis of Boston
The Metropolis, whose offices are located in Brookline, Massachusetts, consists of 63 parishes that minister to the needs of approximately 200,000 Greek Orthodox faithful.
Methodios, Metropolitan of Boston, is the spiritual leader of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Boston which includes all of Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont and the Connecticut towns of Danielson, Enfield, New London and Norwich.
Methodios was enthroned as the Bishop of Boston on April 8, 1984, following his election to that post by the Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Phanar, Constantinople, Turkey.
In July 1989 Bishop Methodios also assumed the Presidency of Hellenic College and Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in Brookline, Massachusetts. He held that position till 1995.
In 1997 the Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate elevated Bishop Methodios to the office of Metropolitan.
