PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation promotes education and leadership

The PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting education and leadership within the Greek-American community. It identifies and honors exceptional undergraduate students of Hellenic descent, providing significant monetary awards based on academic merit and financial need.

This year, the Foundation celebrated the achievements of 52 Greek-American students who were awarded scholarships at a ceremony and gala held on June 14, 2025, at the Hilton in Chicago, Illinois. Over $270,000 in scholarships was distributed to these deserving recipients, recognized for their potential to become lifelong significant achievers.

The selection process for these scholarships is highly competitive, as noted by Ted Argeroplos, a member of the PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation’s Board of Directors.

In a recent interview with Greek Reporter, Argeroplos admitted the difficulty of choosing only 52 students from hundreds of applications. “The first 40-45 students are equally as good as the next 40-45 kids,” he explained.

“The competition is ridiculous. All kids are amazing. They are great achievers, [and] they are among the best in their school.” He added that the academic committee, composed of professors from across the country, finds the process “painful” because “they want to give scholarships to everyone.”
