Greek brewers Konstantinos Pougatsias from Thessaloniki and Lefteris Mesimeris from Corfu, co-founders of Seven Island Brewery, are packing their bags for Denmark and the Netherlands. But this isn’t a vacation—it’s another stop on their journey as nomadic brewers. They’re traveling to breweries in different countries, bringing their secret recipes to create their next innovative craft beers.

Since starting their journey in 2017, the duo has fermented their unique beers in more than thirty US states and countless European cities. They’ve built a reputation for creating explosive, aromatic, and full-bodied brews for those who crave something authentic and new.

This spirit of experimentation has led them to craft more than 230 flavors, from classic lemon and strawberry to wildly imaginative creations like galaktoboureko, milk cake, and even… tzatziki.

“We travel our beer everywhere, which is what makes us different,” they told the Athenian-Macedonian News Agency. “We produce our flavors wherever we’re invited, and it’s incredible to be in contact with people from so many different cultures.”

Their daring approach has paid off. Seven Island Brewery was named the “Best Newcomer Brewery in the World” in 2017 and has since won 15 gold medals, 8 silver, and 10 bronze. The brewery has a strong global presence, with beers being shipped to China, Singapore, and many other countries, and has collaborated with some of the world’s top breweries.

Though they continue to travel, the brewers will soon have a home base in Corfu, where their first permanent brewing facility is under construction. With their team expanding and new ideas constantly flowing, they look forward to their next destination.
