Several of Hollywood’s most distinguished talents, including Cillian Murphy, Daniel Craig, and Michelle Williams, are reportedly ready to film in Greece a major feature film by Oscar-winning director Damien Chazelle.

The project, described by industry sources as a gritty prison drama, will be distributed by Paramount Pictures and produced under Chazelle’s Wild Chickens Productions banner.

Deadline and The Playlist further report that Mia Threapleton is set to join the cast, while reports from early 2026 also suggested that Dave Bautista was in discussions for a key role.

The return of Daniel Craig to Greece

For Daniel Craig, this production marks a return to the country; the actor previously filmed Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery in Greece during the summer of 2021, utilizing locations in Spetses and Porto Heli. His return to the region highlights the growing appeal of Greece as a premier destination for high-profile international productions.

The untitled feature, which is also written and produced by Chazelle, represents a significant stylistic shift for the director known for visually ambitious storytelling, like La La Land and Babylon. Industry analysts describe the upcoming film as a “classic prison film with action elements,” with World of Reel reporting that the production is drawing inspiration from the gritty tone and grounded direction of 1970s New Hollywood cinema.

Filming is scheduled to take place across iconic locations in Athens and the Ionian island of Corfu, running from mid-March through late May 2026.

Reports highlight the critical role that Corfu’s historic, unique architecture—specifically its prison—will play in the film’s visual identity. The choice of location reflects the project’s ambition to create a specific, authentic atmosphere. With a scheduled 10-week shoot, this production is one of the largest film projects set for Greece this year.
