Greek global humanitarian aid and economic development nonprofit organization The Hellenic Initiative (THI) announced the appointment of businessman Peter Parthenis Jr., President and CEO of Grecian Delight Foods and Kronos, to its Board of Directors.

The appointment will be further strengthening the organization’s mission to support sustainable economic development and crisis relief efforts in Greece, the announcement says.

“Joining The Hellenic Initiative Board is both an honor and a responsibility,” commented Peter Parthenis Jr. “As someone deeply connected to my Greek heritage, I am committed to supporting initiatives that drive economic opportunity and strengthen communities in Greece.”

Peter Parthenis Jr. leads Grecian Delight Foods and Kronos, the leading manufacturer and marketer of Greek and Mediterranean food products and a dominant force in the U.S. gyros sandwich market.

Under his leadership, the company has achieved consistent record growth in both sales and profitability, even amid challenging economic conditions. Founded in 1974 by his father, Peter Parthenis Sr., an immigrant from Greece, the company has grown into a nationally recognized brand represented by over 400 distributors and offering more than 300 products.

A graduate of Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management, Parthenis has also completed his MBA at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and is a Harvard Business School Alumni. His professional affiliations include the Young Presidents’ Organization, Chief Executive Organization and R360 Global.

Peter brings a powerful combination of entrepreneurial leadership, operational excellence, and a deep commitment to Hellenism. His experience building a successful business rooted in Greek heritage aligns perfectly with THI’s mission,” said Andrew N. Liveris, Chairman of the THI Board.

George P. Stamas, President of the THI Board, added, “We are delighted to welcome Peter to the Board. His strategic mindset and dedication to community impact will be invaluable as we continue expanding our programs and reach.”
