On Tuesday afternoon, the new US Ambassador, Kimberly Guilfoyle, was received at the Presidential Mansion, where she presented her credentials to the Greek President, Konstantinos Tasoulas.
On Wednesday, Ambassador Guilfoyle is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Guilfoyle, arrived in Athens on Saturday at noon, traveling to Greece on a private flight. “Hello, Greece,” she wrote in Greek, marking her arrival in the country. In a post on X, she expressed her honor to be in Athens, noting that Greece and the United States share an unbreakable bond.
“Together, we will strengthen our alliance and elevate it to new heights,” Guilfoyle wrote.
Shortly after her arrival, the new US ambassador made her first public appearance in Athens, attending a reception at the Grand Hyatt hotel.
On Sunday evening, she attended a nightclub party hosted by Greek pop idol Konstantinos Argyros. The tone of her diplomatic mission is expected to be outlined later in the week at the Transatlantic Energy Cooperation Forum taking place in Athens.
The event will be attended by US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright, US Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum, and 24 European energy ministers.
