Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said on Wednesday that no Turkish troops will be deployed in Gaza, rejecting speculation about disagreements with Egypt over the issue.

Reports earlier suggested tension between Netanyahu and Egyptian intelligence chief Hassan Rashad regarding Turkey’s possible role in postwar stabilization efforts in Gaza.

“There is no disagreement, and there will be no Turkish involvement,” Netanyahu’s office told The Times of Israel. According to Sky News Arabia, the Israeli leader also dismissed the idea of Turkish participation in any future peacekeeping force in the enclave.

Netanyahu also reportedly rejected the inclusion of Palestinian Authority security forces trained by Egypt and Jordan, emphasizing that no discussions about governance or security can take place until Hamas is fully disarmed and relinquishes control of Gaza.

A fragile truce and the US challenge ahead

The remarks come as a US-brokered cease-fire agreement outlines a two-phase plan: first, the complete disarmament of Hamas, and second, the creation of a new governance framework to oversee reconstruction and security in Gaza. Supported by regional mediators, the plan aims to establish conditions for lasting peace while ensuring that Gaza no longer serves as a base for militant activity.

Speaking in Jerusalem, US Vice President J.D. Vance acknowledged the difficulty of the task ahead. “We have a very, very difficult mission before us—to disarm Hamas, rebuild Gaza, improve life for its people, and ensure that Hamas is no longer a threat to our friends in Israel,” Vance said during a joint press conference with Netanyahu.

His remarks underscored Washington’s commitment to the truce framework but also highlighted the political and logistical challenges that could delay Gaza’s path toward stability.
