Young Fans of IShowSpeed, or Speed, the famous American YouTuber created chaos in the center of Athens running after his car as he was doing a live feed for his channel.

“Where all these kids are coming from?” Darren Jason Watkins aka IShowSpeed, wondered as some of his ecstatic fans were banging on the windows of the car. They kept appearing from every street corner and they were following his car by motorbikes. Some were even running after his car.

“Don’t bang the car!” IShowSpeed was heard shouting at the kids. At one point, he sought the protection of the police near the presidential palace. The bemused police officer kept asking what was wrong with him. The American YouTuber explained that he needs protection from his fans.

His security tried in vain to remove the youths who chased the vehicle until the last moment before it drove away. His fans chanted “Cristiano Ronaldo” because IshowSpeed claims to be the footballer’s biggest fan.

The YouTuber sported a white shirt emblazoned with the Greek flag and the word “ΕΛΛΑΣ.”

Before arriving in Greece, IShowSpeed visited Norway, where his trip turned eventful as fans swarmed him in a shopping mall, forcing him to call for security and police assistance. In another stop on his tour, he visited Albania where he met the prime minister of the country.

He is best known for his variety live streams, in which he conducts IRL content at various worldwide locations, plays video games and participates in sporting events.

He records all his movements on video and is very popular among young people mainly from videos related to the game FIFA (now EAFC). His fans know at all times exactly where he is and rush to meet him. His live videos are watched by hundreds of thousands.

Watkins registered his YouTube channel “IShowSpeed” in 2016, where he began posting gaming content. He started gaining online attention in 2021 due to his aberrant behavior and comments, which resulted in bans from Twitch and the game Valorant.

Watkins has also pursued a recording career; he signed with Warner Records to release his 2022 single “World Cup”, which charted in several countries.

Two years later, he began expressing his intense support for footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, and frequently shifted his content towards towards him and association football. This led to Watkins meeting Ronaldo in person, and later appearing at the Sidemen Charity Football Match, and other major sporting venues.

In 2022, he was named Breakout Streamer of the Year at the 12th Streamy Awards.
