Greece’s Olympiacos basketball team will be relegated to the country’s Second Basketball division, per a decision which was made public on Thursday.

The decision, which was released on Thursday afternoon by an athletic judge, accuses Olympiacos of deliberately not participating in the last play-off match against the Panathinaikos team.

Olympiacos B.C. will have to pay a total of €15,000 in fines, and it will be relegated to the second division; and on top of these measures, the team will have to begin the next season with -6 points.

The popular basketball team of Piraeus has not commented on the Olympiacos decision at this time.
