Dep. FM Quick sworn in as parliament’s 22nd independent deputy

Deputy Foreign Minister Terens Quick on Monday took an oath of office before the plenary of the Greek parliament, taking up the seat vacated by the recently resigned Independent Greeks (ANEL) MP Thanasis Papachristopoulos.

Quick, who is now the 22nd independent MP in the Greek parliament, sent a letter to Parliament President Nikos Voutsis declaring that “exercising the right afforded by the constitution to vote according to his conscience,” he will support legislative initiatives tabled by the SYRIZA government – as set out in the government programme of the former SYRIZA-ANEL coalition and the last budget – right up to the end of its legal term.
